My mum found this ad in the Chinese newspaper about this China Town opening in Manukau so today we thought we’d go on a family outing to check it out. The place is located on Ti Rakau Drive and we noticed the distinctive red building as soon as we arrived. Inside the large warehouse-like building there were aisles of store cubicles. My first impression of the place reminded me of the Chinese New Year festival held at the Auckland Showgrounds every year, but a more permanent version. In the centre they had a stage and audience seating, complete with a massive flat screen TV at the back of the stage. Of course it was empty though, as were many of the cubicles since they were still being set up.
