For years I’ve always wanted to create my own font that looked similar to my handwriting but I never had a good way of creating one. I finally got round to doing it recently though, and it’s here for you to download too! Simply click the link of the True-Type Font (TTF) file at the bottom of this post and install it on your computer so you can write like Aonghas as well! Bear in mind that this is still a work in progress, so I haven’t ironed out all the kinks yet. So far there are more than 250 glyphs in the character set, but I’ve still got hundreds yet to complete (and also tweaking current ones as well!). Let me know how it goes and if there’s any problems be sure to tell me so I can fix them up! Hopefully I can create some more fonts in future!
I often take random photos on my camera, phone or iPad whenever I see something interesting, but I never knew how to organise or categorise them properly into albums. As a result they always ended up stored in memory somewhere and I’d never look at them again. I wanted some easy way to share these moments and memories with everyone, so after some thought and quick brainstorming I created the PicStream initiative. Similar to photo blogging in some ways, PicStream is a running stream of photos that I plan to add to everyday which basically displays things I come across in my daily life journey. Whether it be people I meet, places I go to, random signs or symbols I see or friends sleeping in lectures, PicStream will hopefully one day become quite a unique album of photos. I’m planning to extend PicStream in future, but I hope you enjoy browsing through the photos in the meanwhile. You never know, you might end up in the PicStream yourself one day!
Note: Initially you will only be able to see the 8 most recent photos on the homepage. In future there wil be a gallery where you can view all the photos in PicStream.
Things just got a whole lot easier. Last week I launched the mobile version of my website and now I’m pleased to announce the next AONGHAS.COM development with the all-new Facebook integration. Now you can post comments using your Facebook account, so you don’t have to fill in all your user details ever again! Simply click the “Connect with Facebook” button at the top of the comment form and sign in with your Facebook credentials. Now you’re good to go! This is a first-time only procedure, so in future as long as you’re logged into Facebook, you’ll automatically be logged in and ready to post comments without any further steps. You can also “like” any posts or pages and share them with your friends. And don’t worry, your personal information will not be used or shared for any other purpose.
So why don’t you do me a favour by giving it a try? Click on the Connect button below and start commenting!
| Update: All this works on the mobile web version now as well! |

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to my renovated and restored website. It has been exactly two years since my last major update; many of you will remember the midnight launch on 31st July 2008. Over the last four months I have been working hard to revamp and upgrade many features on my website and I apologise for website being down during this time. Much of the code has been re-worked from scratch, including some of the layout methods and graphics. Some of the major changes in this launch include:
- A new wider design layout, increased from 800px to 1024px
- Re-designed headers and page titles
- Dynamically updated home page
- New Contact page using AJAX
- Links page with automatically updating RSS feeds
- Remodelled full-featured multimedia Gallery including photos and videos
- Custom image animations with FancyBox
- The official launch of the AONGHAS.COM Store
- Detailed About Me page (still growing)
- Related posts fetches other similar posts when viewing a single blog entry
- New footer area with useful links and calendar with upcoming events
- Dynamic sidebar with page-sensitive content
There are still minor changes I need to work on, but I hope you enjoy having a look around the site. Let me know if you find any bugs or errors so I can try to fix them up. And before you go, make sure to leave a comment on my guestbook!
My Flickr Pro account expired last week so I’m working on a media gallery renovation at the moment. I don’t know if I’m going to stay with Flickr or not; I may end up just hosting the photos myself. Hopefully I’ll have it up and running soon though, so I can get the rest of the camp photos uploaded (I know some of you are waiting patiently for them!)
